  1. I really miss your leading congregational singing, Myron. I ask Sean about you often and pray that somehow you are invited to the Church of Christ in Alabama where I am a member. I moved to Alabama in 2020, replete with various churches of Christ. ———. is large, active and dedicated to the Lord. However, its primary song leader literally “hogs” the mike, singing very loudly and stiffling the praise and worship of the Bride. He also reads Scripture and lectures worshippers when he has the mike. His voice is adequate but he has no idea that the duty of any songleader is to guide the Bride as it worships, not be a star. The people in the congregation can sing and praise; worship to GOD could be reverent and appropriate. Unfortunately, the man is a deacon and his father an elder. When I first moved here, I worshipped with another congregation, one of the anti-groups here in Northern Alabama. But they could sing and NO one person was as clueless and mike-hogging as the man I describe above. We really, really need you. Bad music leaders are the bane of the churches of Christ. Our members can sing beautifully if we were not plagued with men who THINK they can sing and grab the mike at every opportunity. Only in the “anti” groups have I seen humility that puts worshipping the Lord before being a star. I speak very frankly, Myron, since I believe that your love of the Lord is greater than your love of being a star as a song leader. And you, young man, CAN sing.

    1. Thanks Nora…it is good to hear from you. Sean told me that you had moved to Alabama, I have several FB friends who follow Singing with the Spirit. It would be nice to come that direction, but at this time no-one has sent me an invitation to bring SWTS to the southern states of the US. Have you seen some of the classes on World Video Bible School? I’ll send you the link if you’d like to check those out. We recorded them in the fall of 2021, so I was a little rusty from the 2020 lock down. ;)
Hope you are doing well and it truly is a blessing to hear from you again. Please stay healthy and know that I’m looking forward to the day we can all sing together around HIS throne…and no one will have a mike!

    1. Hello Tony, Sorry I’m so late in getting back to you. Thanks for joining us here. I am not a veteran, but my objective is to always honor those who sacrificed for our country. Also, though many will consider ministers as Pastors, we like to reserve that ‘title’ for the men who serve as elders in the Lord’s church. Ephesians 4:11 “And He gave some as apostles, and some as prophets, and some as evangelists (preachers), and some as pastors (Greek; shepherd) and teachers.”
Thanks again for coming here and I’ll hope to ‘see’ you again!

  2. Hi, I found an image on your site that’s a kind of poster of Hebrews 12:2 and would like to reproduce it in our church magazine and on some cards (not for sale) for our theme verse for the year 2018. Do you own the copyright for the image or do you know where you got it? thanks.

    1. Jonty…I’m not sure which image you’re referring to, but most of this graphics are public domain. There are a few that are person pictures (family mostly), but if you could tell me which post/article you have in mind I can tell you where I found it. Hope these ‘lessons’ are beneficial to you.
